Pearl Experiences
A variety of experiences are available to suit different requirements, group sizes, moods, and budgets — from regular weekly tours that individuals can join, to private tours where you can take home your own pearl, and group tours ideal for team-building or client entertainment.
All tours (outlined in detail under Packages) include the following key features with special add-ons depending on the option you choose.
- A captivating journey through Abu Dhabi’s beautiful mangroves aboard a traditional pearling dhow.
- Traditional Arabian hospitality with Arabic coffee, karak tea, fresh dates, and water.
- An informative session led by a knowledgeable cultural consultant or tour guide, offering insights into the rich history of pearling in the UAE.
- A hands-on demonstration of traditional techniques once used by pearl divers.
- Our cultured oysters are sourced directly from a pearl farm. Not every oyster contains a pearl; the probability is approximately 60 to 40. However, guests are welcome to continue opening oysters until they find a pearl — and once found, the pearl is yours to keep.
- While only some packages include a take-home pearl, there’s the option to buy pearls on all trips, as well as a specially designed necklace to house the pearl without piercing it.
- There’s also the option to add a traditional lunch to your experience, extending its duration, for an additional fee.
Live Oyster Opening Experience for All Events
- Enhance your event with a captivating Live Oyster with Pearl Opening Experience, complete with a beautiful aquarium display showcasing live oysters.
- During the events, our team will also serve traditional Arabic coffee and dates as part of the hospitality experience.
- The setup includes a professionally arranged table and traditional majlis seating, creating an authentic Emirati ambiance. Traditional pearl diving tools will be elegantly displayed on the table to provide a cultural touchpoint.
- An experienced Emirati guide will be present to share insightful information about the history and techniques of traditional pearl diving, offering guests an engaging and educational experience.
- Skilled experts will perform live oyster openings during the event. Guests will receive the pearls and mother-of-pearl found inside, presented in an elegant pouch as a memorable keepsake.
- This unique experience is perfect for cultural festivals, corporate events, company events, and private gatherings.
